2024 Indie Biz Gift Guide for Stationery Lovers

2024 Indie Biz Gift Guide for Stationery Lovers

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…to shop small! We’re big fans of supporting independent businesses here at Nikki’s Supply Store, so we’ve rounded up a truckload of stationery-themed small business goodies that are perfect for gifting - whether you’re shopping for friends and family, or putting your own wish list together.

Please note: Everything on this list is in stock and shipping before Christmas at the time of writing, but it’s best to double check shipping times before you place an order. You can see Nikki’s Supply Store’s last order dates here.

Grab a cup of something festive, and let’s dive in…

First up, we just had to include one of Lisa Congdon’s incredible Eraser Arrangement Photographic Prints (£26). Lisa is a fine artist, illustrator and writer based in Portland, Oregon and we’re super proud to be amongst the few selected UK stockists to carry her work! Lisa’s photographic prints use archival inks on acid-free smooth matte art paper and we’ve got six designs from her Eraser Arrangement and Object Arrangement series to choose from.

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, we also carry a choice of five postcard designs from her Eraser Arrangement series (£3.50 each).

Next, you know we can’t resist anything pencil-themed, and this gorgeous Lambswool Mustard Pencil Scarf (£60) by Sara Carr would be the perfect holiday gift for a fellow pencil enthusiast! Sara’s creations are knitted with soft and durable lambswool which is spun and dyed in a UK family-run mill in the UK.

Both Nikki and I love a hair claw and are so excited to be stocking these fun Composition Notebook Hair Claws (£18) by Louisiana-based artist, Colette Bernard. Inspired by the humble yet iconic composition notebook, these claws are made of bioacetate, a super strong and eco-friendly (petrol-free) bioplastic. The notebook design makes these hair clips perfect for teachers, students, journalists, writers, artists, bullet journalers and stationery lovers!

Any other multi-crafters in the house? I love stationery and journaling, but can’t resist a fibre craft or two. This Trust the Process Embroidery Kit (£26.50) by Hello! Hooray! Is suitable for beginners and contains all the materials you need to stitch this bright and bold motivational message. The detailed step-by-step instructions include full colour photos and Hello! Hooray! have IGTV and YouTube video tutorials for each of the stitches required for this project.

This incredible Pencil Bow Tie (£60) by Baltimore-based designer maker Xoelle is inspired by the iconic Dixon Ticonderoga World's Best Pencil (£1.50). Made from pieced cotton, linen and vintage corduroy as Xoelle source second-hand fabrics wherever possible!

Looking for a more subtly-coloured stationery-themed bow tie? We’ve also got Xoelle’s Black Paint Brush Bow Tie (£60), which features striking gold details and comes in a choice of two neck sizes.

Oh yes, it’s another pencil! How fun is this Novelty Pencil Ruler (£12.50) by IRL friend and designer illustrator, Liz Harry? The encouraging “it’s all going 2B OK” message would be perfect for someone who’s taking exams, starting a new school or job or just generally needs a little bit of stationery-based reassurance.

Looking for a stationery-themed gift under £5 for a stocking filler, Secret Santa or teacher gift? This colourful Too Much Stationery Drinks Coaster (£3.50) by Kellylou is perfect for brightening up a coffee table or desk, and is made from durable hardboard MDF. Also, we wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that you can never have too much stationery!

Stationery you can eat? Now I’ve seen everything! This Chocolate Stationery Box (£14) by father-daughter founded Choc on Choc contains all of the essentials: Three chocolate crayons, a chocolate pencil sharpener, chocolate scissors, a chocolate fountain pen, and a chocolate pencil with a marshmallow eraser!

If you’re looking to splash the cash on a special someone this year, I don’t think you could do much better than Rock Cakes’ absolutely stunning stationery-themed jewellery. My personal favourite is this Pencil Sharpener Pendant (£240), which is created using recycled sterling silver and set with a white rose cut diamond.

While I’ve tried to include some more unusual gift ideas for stationery lovers, I don’t think this list would be complete without a journal or two. Archer & Olive’s luxury journals make absolutely stunning gifts, and come complete with a sturdy gift box. I’d be absolutely thrilled to find one under my Christmas tree! Shop our full Archer & Olive range here (from £20).

If you’re an avid bullet journaler who wants to spread the love to a newbie or would-be bullet journaler, why not treat a loved one to one of our Bullet Journal Starter Kits (£44)? They contain all of the essentials they need to get started and loads of our favourite stationery supplies.

Last but not least, if you’re shopping for someone who loves stationery but you have absolutely no idea what they’d like, a Nikki’s Supply Store Gift Card (from £10) could be just the ticket! They’re emailed automatically so can be bought right up until the last minute, and who doesn’t love doing a bit of online Boxing Day shopping?

I hope that’s given you a little inspiration for your holiday shipping and/or wish list! If you give or receive any Nikki's Supply Store goodies over the Holiday Season, we’d love to see!
